Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

The weather was just spectacular this weekend and the crowds at Horn Pond were just as spectacular. Sunday we had our 5Th Annual Memorial Lantern Walk. We had great crowds and everyone had a wonderful time.

The sunset was intense!

Monday was another beautiful day. But by mid-morning it seemed to be getting extremely hazy. It wasn't the humidity, though. It was smoke from fires, in of all places, Canada! It was blowing in off of the ocean. It made for some interesting photos at Horn Pond. When I took a walk down the Causeway, my across the street neighbors were just taking their kayaks out. A few minutes later, the neighbors next to them came down with their kayaks. By the time they got out to the middle of the Pond, two other kayaks had joined them.

As the afternoon wore on and the sun got lower in the sky, the haze factor was intensified! Got this shot from Arlington Road.

Again the sunset was intense. More than likely it was because of the smoke.

Hope everyone had a terrific Memorial Day Weekend!

Winter Wonderland

I'm back!!! Both my brother and a good friend warned me about keeping up with a blog! Now I know what they meant! My last post was just before I went on vacation out west last August (in case you would like to see some of the pics go to http://www.innitou-photo.com/ and scroll down a little till you see the link). I am sooooo overdue for a post! But you know how life gets; back from trip with about 4500 photos to edit, family wedding (with more photos to edit), Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Well, here I am again!
After last week's small but "sticky" snow storm, the sun rose the next day over Horn Pond in a cloudless azure blue sky. I got out early (just after sunrise) for about an hour (still had to go to work) and so I walked the Lagoon. As I wandered along in this winter fairyland I thought to myself it just doesn't get any better than this! So, I present to you here some of what I saw that morning. ENJOY!!!
